Shop the Wild 2009---DO IT!!!!

Shop the Wild 2009I am so excited to take the kids to this tomorrow.

What better way to create fabulous vegan concoctions than with fresh, local and natural ingredients?

I have been dying to try the 100 Mile Diet for ages now, but the vegan-osity of our existence has held me back. Brown rice is such a staple in our house; we eat it at least three or four times a week. Does brown rice even grow on Vancouver Island? Or in even in Canada for that matter? And what about lentils, chickpeas, black beans, white beans? Won’t somebody please think about the legumes and their proximity to my heart? I know I should know all this already, but I don’t, so I’m really looking forward to some enlightenment tomorrow.

I also want to stop relying on vegan convenience foods so much, although, since these TETs (tough economic times) have set in, I have been way better. Food is obviously so much better in its natural state and I am ALMOST positive that Veggie Chik’n does not go to pasture in our local community garden plots. Do chickens even go to pasture? Ah, I digress.

At any rate, protein is my query I am eagerly awaiting an answer. I am also anticipating some yummy mouth-eating and some helpful head-thinking and right this second I am going to sit on my couch for some make-talking with my wonderful, brilliant, hard-working husband (don’t you love 7 year-old verbage?)

Nighty-night, friendly friends!
